Southern Yellow Pine Direct was founded in 2012 selling Longleaf #2 Knotty Pine, almost exclusively.
Rule #1 Customer service with 100% customer satisfaction does not mean we are perfect, it means we do our job upfront by explaining every detail about the order process, including delivery. Today 70% of our business are referrals because we "under promise and over deliver, every time. Our reputation (A+ BB) was built one job at time and we make sure we take care of each customer, no matter what the order size.
We sell real wood, only. No exceptions and we rant against all peel and stick laminate. Hardwoods are not a 2mm veneer "engineered" by gluing it to compressed pulp. Furthermore the term "Laminate Hardwoods" is just like saying "Aluminum Foil Armor, the two things cannot by definition exist together.
We approach with a ‘one house one floor’ attitude where repeat business happens when customers add on or move. We tell the truth, get you the most your money can buy and in marketplace dominated by single use floor covers, we sell floors. Real wood takes time and since time is money, most floor covering companies choose to sell single use covers because every seven years they get repeat business.
The truth behind our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and our 60 plus positive reviews is simple, we sell our flooring way too cheap. When that is combined with our amazing customer service, we rarely lose a fair fight. We are polite and operate with a transparency that shocks most first-time callers, “we seem to good to be true” has been said on many occasions.
Mill Direct & Milled to Order do not normally exist together
Southern Yellow Pine Direct customers are homeowners, contractors, builders, installation professionals, interior designers, restoration professionals, historic restoration projects, architects, churches, restaurants, bars, car dealerships, retail shops, an antique mall, a bed and breakfast, tiny house builders, cabin builders, lodge builders, (a) youth ballet, (an) executive from major flooring retailer (very proud), (a)Broadway production, wedding chapel (s) and countless house flippers.
Southern Yellow Pine is not a species-Our company was founded on this misconception, we tell the truth and accept small margins. Southern yellow pine (often abbreviated SYP) doesn't refer to any one species of tree, but rather a group of three-needle pine species which are classified as yellow pine (as opposed to white pine), and are native to the Southern United States. They grow very well in the acidic red clay soil found in most of the region. The species include Loblolly, Longleaf, short leaf, and slash pines. We sell pine like they sell wine, where age, species & location all matter.
